Conduct of Students:

• Be polite to the public while on duty (greet Madam or Sir; explain what the donation is for; say “Thank You” for donations and “Have a nice day” when person decides not to donate)
• Students must be dressed neatly and look presentable to the public at all times.
• While on duty, no eating or loud boisterous behaviour.
• Students are allowed to take 2 to 3 short breaks (5 to 10 minutes) and they are to inform their form teachers.
• Students are encouraged to pair up in twos or threes and sell flags together.
• If a student is unwell, he/she must return the tin to the Form Teacher and not to bring it home.

When you sell flags:

• Selling of flags is NOT PERMITTED in MRT Stations, hotels, shopping centres, hospitals and places of worship.
• You are encouraged to go in pairs to sell flags.
• Stay within the area assigned to you.
• When requesting for donations from the public, smile, be polite and do not coerce or harass people for donations. Always thank donors and give them a sticker in exchange for their donation.
• If you encounter any problems, not feeling well or lose your tin, please report back to the collection centre.

Anyway, we went to TPU which is whatever it mentions on top. That’s the membership card which I’ll only show Soksan’s because I took this only =)

Then played L4D with Jiaying, Elycia and Lizheng. And Ew. I don’t like L4D. (No Linyan you shall not argue with me LOL.) Buddy even went to buy L4D2. Ew-er. And even Shinan agrees that if you play hor your head will feel giddy and you will feel like vomitting after a while. LOL REALLY LAH.

Partners’ Appreciation Night=)

That day was Meet-The-Parents Session. Had a combined meeting with him and her and them. While I was waiting outside the office, Mr Chia came in and he walked like a penguin. Cute and funny LOL. =)

Then, did CCA Councillor Duty along the carpark driveway while the rest @ Main Gate and General Office walkway. LOL. Super funneh!! Cos the driveway quite long ma. Only we guarding. Then I was the mouth, Leslie was the gullet and Azhar the big bouncy stomach! =) And we kept running up and down and when Azhar walked towards wherever he was heading to, we followed him behind until he turned arnd then we act act and Leslie keep cannot tahan. LOLOLOL. =) We still hid behind the bushes but dumb dumb Leslie was spotted cos he made a lot of noise. HAHAHA. =)

Then after their talk at the FISH (Fuhua Indoor Sports Hall), we went to serve the alumni and teachers the wide range of food. =) Too much food left alrd, so we had to give takeaways. Which is what the helpful Azhar and Jordan are doing. =) Hahaha!

Experiments @ Chemistry Lab=)

Did this experiment with Jolene, Zhengxin and Cherlyn. Hahaha! The funnest Chem lesson I had. =) We were timed 5 mins for every station, and had to jot down whatever we see or is taking place.

Experiment No. 1: Egg shell.
Bubbles can be seen. LOL. =) God-knows-what kind of thing is happening there tho.

Experiment No. 2: 1-Cent Coin.
The rust is gone after you place the coin into the beaker of chemicals. By magic. =)

Experiment No. 3: Nail.
Can see the dusty foam thingy going up right? LOL. I also don’t know what is going on.

Experiment No. 4: A metal strip.
I know this!! Have a video of it. =) This silver metal is dropped into the beaker of solution and it slowly disappears while bubbles are formed. In the video, Fat Wong showed us how the procedure goes and explained to us the facts and stuff. Bushy was complaining abt the stinky smell. LOL. And it really stinks!!!!! Damn funny when we did all these experiments. Expecially the expression on people’s faces when they smell it. =) Right, Zhengxin? LOL. I know Buddy gave a super funny expression!! Hahaha! I think he forgot le. =)

Went to the Singapore Art Museum with Linyan who is apparently in Australia now and would be there for three weeks! =(

Life goes on..

You don’t have to understand this post if you don’t.

E rubbed her eyes gently and sipped the cup of white chocolate mocha frappe delivered from Starbucks. It had a tinge of bitterness. Her eyes darted across the room. The short hand of the clock ticked and halted at three. She glanced upon the gloomy wisps of grey clouds tinted in the sky. They had blocked out all the bright night stars.

It was the 5th of October. Today was the start of the End-Of-Year Examinations, her final hope of proceeding to the next grade. E pictured students snuggling tightly in their beds, sound asleep. Not her. She couldn’t afford that. Even if burning the midnight oil everyday helped, it would be the greatest pleasure. E cracked her fingers, chanted “I can do it!” to herself, and continued moving onwards.

E faced the materials derived from wood, the cause of deforestation. They were whacked with lines and lines of printed words. Sometimes, she just felt like digging a hole and hiding her head inside like an ostrich does. Perhaps this way, she wouldn’t need to bombard her mind with an infinite stretch of information, cramming it with a great range of facts and knowledge, just like trying to compress solid particles.

But E told herself, “What am I thinking? I’m not giving up; not for the sake of my parents, friends and teachers. The people who trusted me, who put faith in me, who guided me along and touched my heart again and again with their motivating words.”

The days blew pass like a frail leaf trembling in the surge of the wind. From the letter writing format, stuffing of Mandarin strokes, inferring sources of Sri Lanka conflicts, and understanding the formula of Trigonometry, to the formation of great waterfalls, determining the oxidation states in compounds, sketching graphs of y=ax³ and y=a/x, and learning how objects come to a stop through retardation.

E heaved a huge sigh of relief and flicked off a drop of perspiration. She felt as if she had taken loads of 100kg weights off her chest. Her face sparkled and gleamed with glee. E thought her efforts had paid off. She thought she had crossed over the boundary. She thought she had overcome the race and succeeded the whole test altogether.

But, E failed. Metaphorically and literally.

From the start of the game when the dice rolled, E was just deceiving herself. It still stroke on her that she actually persisted on during those days.
